Looking to accommodate family and friends for evening fires, the client wanted to create a space that was welcoming and practical.
The team and the client worked together to decide on creating a stone patio as an extension to their existing deck, which was the client’s current entertaining space. This move expanded the gathering spaces further into the yard to take advantage of the view corridor to the Sakonnet River.
The fire pit is set in the Southwest corner of the patio and is surrounded by a fieldstone wall that is softened by exterior plantings. Looking to provide more function into the wall, Fransson Landscapes will add a bluestone cap at seating level to allow more users to experience the fire and view.
